Vertigine Bianca is the official film of the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina, the first to be held in Italy. Giorgio Ferroni created a work that is both spectacular and experimental, in which the film itself competes with the difficulties of filming the various Olympic disciplines. It was thanks to the extremely engaging portrayal of numerous disciplines that Vertigine Bianca received unprecedented distribution, becoming the global testimonial for that edition.
Introduction by Stefano Giordano.
Followed by a discussion with Leonardo Bizzaro and Massimo Spampani, journalist and writer, author of ‘Cortina 1956. Le prime olimpiadi bianche in Italia’ (Marsilio Arte 2025).
