Food and wine, Top event / May 23, 2026 · Monte Bondone
On Saturday 23 May 2026, the Montagna 2050 exhibition arrives at Monte Bondone, in the town of Sant'Anna in Sopramonte. Fifth stop of the tour in the Trentino valleys organised by Slow Food Trentino. A journey of listening to communities to gather visions and perspectives on the future of the mountain.
Guests of the opening conference will be Giuseppe Vignali, director of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, and Fausto Giovanelli, former president of the same Park. This will be followed by five discussion tables open to all those who register by writing to slowfoodtaas@gmail.com. The first topic of discussion will be dedicated to civic participation and the role of mountain areas in decision-making processes. It will reflect on how the communities of the Highlands can have a greater impact on public choices and on what tools, networks and forms of organisation can strengthen active citizenship and the ability of the peripheral territories to represent their own needs and visions.
The "Conserving Biodiversity" table, on the other hand, will address the relationship between food production, work and the protection of ecosystems. The discussion will focus on agricultural and pastoral models capable of keeping biodiversity alive, generating local economies and transmitting skills, practices and knowledge related to the territories.
A further working group will be dedicated to tourism and will try to question what forms of welcome and attendance can be compatible with the daily life of the resident communities, avoiding processes of excessive consumption of the mountain territories. "Let's discover each other" will instead be the table dedicated to the themes of narrative and imagery of the highlands. The starting point will be a simple but central question: how to tell the story of the mountain today without reducing it to a stereotype or postcard? Finally, the last discussion table will focus on living in the mountains in its most daily dimension: services, relationships, accessibility, the right to live and build a future in the highlands.
Mountain 2050 is made with the support of the Caritro Foundation and the Italian and European Trento Capital Committee for Volunteering 2024. The territorial partners for the event on 23 May are the ASUC of Sopramonte, the ASUC of Baselga del Bondone and the ASUC of Vigolo Baselga. At the end of the work, a convivial moment created in collaboration with the Osteria Sant'Anna. Free admission to all activities.
