On Wednesday 4 March at 5.30 pm, the conference room of Le Gallerie in Trento will host the presentation of the book "The seasons of Clara: biographical notes and political and judicial events on Clara Marchetto, a fighter for Trentino's autonomy", written by Franco Gioppi and recently published by the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino.
Through a careful search between local and national archives, Franco Gioppi in this volume reconstructs the intricate story of Clara Marchetto (1911-1982), a teacher from Trentino and an autonomist militant, protagonist of one of the most singular and controversial cases in post-war political and judicial history. From the persecution of the fascist regime to the accusations of espionage, to the commitment to autonomy and exile in France, his life is intertwined with the tensions of a transforming Italy. The complex portrait of a courageous and determined woman emerges, who paid with isolation and oblivion for the coherence of her ideas.
Stefano Bruno Galli, historian (University of Milan) and Mirko Saltori, researcher (Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino), will take part in the event on 4 March in Trento, dedicated to an emblematic event of the Trentino twentieth century. The dialogue will be introduced and moderated by Giuseppe Ferrandi, general director of the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino.
