October 8, 2026 / 4.00 - 7.30 pm
A study seminar dedicated to the history of popular music and youth cultures in Italy between 1960 and 2000. The initiative, organized by the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino and the Italian IASM, takes its cue from the research project "Popular music and youth cultures in Trentino from the 1950s to the present" and proposes a reflection on the relationship between music, society, identity and cultural transformations.
During the two days, scholars, musicologists and researchers will delve into themes ranging from beat music to cyberpunk, from popular music to museification, up to the Italian and Emilian punk scene of the 1980s. The programme also includes a presentation of the research project and a dialogue with The Bastard Sons of Dionysus, accompanied by music journalist Fabio De Santi. The seminar will take place at the Officina dell 'Autonomia in Trento and will also be available online.
