Culture, exhibitions, and art / July 2, 2026 · Trento
Thursday 2 July will see the start of the new calendar of events that, until 30 August, will colour Piazza Cesare Battisti in Trento with a rich range of proposals for every taste and for every age, including music, cinema, prose shows, the poetry slam competition dedicated to the memory of David Wilkinson, literary meetings and events in the name of great comedy and, above all, healthy fun.
An offer of events as always articulated, spread over fifty evenings, which for the seventh consecutive year will take place within the wonderful setting offered by the Social Theatre of Trento, with the stage facing Piazza Cesare Battisti. A garment that has now definitively entered the heart and habits of the Trentino public and beyond.
Also thisyear, music will be given ample space on the stage of the Teatro Capovolto, with concerts that will see major artists in Trento such as Frida Bollani Magoni, Claudio "Greg" Gregori (of the duo Lillo & Greg) and his 1950s rock 'n' roll, Frankie hi-nrg mc with the new tour "Voice and drums", and the historic guitarist and founder of CCCP-Fedeli alla linea, Massimo Zamboni, with a reading-concert inspired by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
And again, choirs, bands, in collaboration with some of the most prestigious musical realities in the region such as the "F.A. Bonporti" Conservatory of Trento and Riva del Garda, the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, the Corpo Musicale Città di Trento, the Associazione MusicaRiva, the Euregio Youth Wind Orchestra, as well as international ensembles committed to world music and jazz such as EuroBalkan and Nubras, and local realities such as the Coro Calicantus of Pergine and the Apocrifi, a tribute band by Fabrizio De André.
But it does not end here, because the Inverted Dance will return in collaboration with the Trentino Dance Federation, and there could be no lack of special attention to the theatre, with shows in the name of comedy and fun, which will see on stage faces known as Natalino Balasso and Alessandro Fullin, and stand up comedians of absolute value such as Annagaia Marchioro, Daniele Gattano and Alessandro Ciacci, in addition to the monologue all to laugh at by Lucio Gardin, and the autobiographical show by Pietro Cerchiello, a young actor and author, artistic director of the Associazione Teatrale Dimore Creative.
And then, as every year, to accompany the two summer months of the Teatro Capovolto there will be the usual events dedicated to the best of Italian and European cinema, made in collaboration with Cineworld Trento, with a particular offer entirely dedicated to documentaries, proposed in collaboration with Cinema Mezzanotte (CSDC – Cooperativa Spectatrici e Distributrici Cinematografiche).
Finally, to complete the rich programming of the Teatro Capovolto, there will be space for events dedicated to poetry with the poetry slam and the prize dedicated to David Wilkinson – now in its fifth edition - and to the world of literature with "Prometeo Capovolto", a literary festival that thissummer will have the pleasure of hosting an event dedicated to the theatre of the late director Vitaliano Trevisan, as well as a show that will try to compare the wars of the past with those of the present, thanks to the voices of the war envoy Francesca Mannocchi and the composer Rodrigo D’Erasmo.
The summer season of the Teatro Sociale is part of the "Trento aperta 2026" (Trento open 2026), a rich programme coordinated by the Events Tourism Culture Office of the Municipality of Trento.
