It is the most important and well-known monument in the entire province, now home to the Provincial Museum of Art, a tangible sign of seven hundred years of Trentino history from the time of Frederick II of Swabia, through the Austrian dominion and the First World War. In its current form, it is a complex of buildings, the result of modifications and additions that took place over the centuries starting from the 13th. You can visit the medieval part with the walkway; the Eagle Tower with its precious cycle of frescoes from the 1400s dedicated to the months; the Gothic part with the charming Venetian loggia, the Renaissance building with beautiful frescoes, the representative rooms, and the 16th-century apartment of Prince Bishop Bernardo Clesio.
