Routes combining nature and art to excite both adults and children and help them discover the wonders of the past
The Monte Piano Trail is a family-friendly hike that leads visitors through the woods of Fornace and Civezzano, passing by numerous signs of the intense and famous mining activity (cadini, limestone, canope) that affected the area during the Middle Ages.
The route is enlivened by the fantastic presence of 23 wooden sculptures depicting gnomes, forest inhabitants, and characters from local legends. The first sculptures were made starting in 1996 by the skilled hands of Nino Puleo, called Nino, and later enriched by the works of other local sculptors, produced during the annual Sculpture Symposium.
