The Laghestel biotope from Loc. Ferrari

Beginner / 4.29 km · 1:10 h · 31 m

Easy walk to Laghestel, a biotope rich in animal and plant species.

The "Laghestel", a nature reserve established by the Municipality of Baselga di Piné, is defined as a "peat-bog basin" because it is an ancient lake almost completely silted and transformed into a swamp, in which, however, a residual water surface of considerable size still remains, surrounded by a wide reed bed. The peat bog has a U shape open towards the south and, at the end of its western arm, the small water surface (Laghestel = small lake) that gives the name to the entire area is located.

The walk can continue towards Montagnaga along the cycling-pedestrian path.
