Established on 10 October 2008 with a programme agreement between the Municipality of Trento and the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Monte Bondone Reserve Network is a natural paradise a short walk from the city that has eight special conservation areas and four local reserves.
The aim is to protect a unique environment that ranges from the banks of the Adige, with its old chestnut and beech forests, its mountain conifers and its high altitude meadows, to the peaks of Monte Bondone. Here the human being is little present and the mountain is left to the eye in all its beauty, easy to reach and fascinating to explore, on foot or by bicycle. The Network is included in the territories of the municipalities of Trento, Cimone, Garniga, Vallelaghi and Villa Lagarina. Not to be missed are the panoramic excursions or the discovery of the Viote peat bog, a remnant of a late glacial marsh. By cable car you can get from Trento to the chestnut groves of Sardagna.
STRENGTH
The wild and little-anthropized nature of the place, which comes to life in a different way in each season.
