A sacred building that surprises with its ability to harmonize different eras and artistic languages. In the church of San Apollinare, dating back to the 14th century, an elegant medieval portal dialogues with suggestive "recovery" elements from the Roman era, creating a fascinating interweaving of history and art.
Built in the 14th century, the church houses important architectural testimonies and a significant presence of works of art. By carefully observing walls and pilasters, you can identify materials from pre-existing Roman buildings, reused in the construction: among these, an epigraph dated to 23 BC stands out, one of the oldest finds of this kind found in Trentino.
The façade is embellished with an interesting portal in late Romanesque style, while inside recent restorations have brought to light fragments of a cycle of frescoes. The decorative apparatus is completed by three 18th-century marble altars and a contemporary wooden crucifix, which enrich the collected and evocative atmosphere of the building.
