Now more than ever, adopting a sustainable approach in our daily activities, starting with small gestures, is of great importance in contributing to the development of an increasingly green territory. To do this, it is possible to follow certified criteria and standards that serve as a guide for responsible development, and choose to become certified in order to obtain tangible recognition of one's commitment. Among these, the GSTC standard forms the basis for a commitment to sustainable tourism and boasts a number of features that make it one of the best:
- it is an international standard,
- it is recognised worldwide by institutions, tourists and major intermediaries;
- it is multi-sectoral, as it addresses the entire supply chain;
- it includes all aspects of sustainability, such as management, socio-economic, cultural and environmental;
- it is based on an iterative process that aims at continuous improvement of company management;
Consider GSTC certification for your establishment. Find out how you can best enhance your commitment to a more sustainable and responsible approach to the local area, guests and the community.

Alongside certifications and international criteria, in Trentino it is possible to choose to obtain other prestigious eco-labels promoted by the Autonomous Province of Trento as a tangible recognition of one's effort towards sustainability: the Ecoristorazione, Eco-Eventi, Ecoacquisti and Green Film.
Ecoristorazione Trentino
The Autonomous Province of Trento set up a working group with the main trade associations operating in the catering sector, with the aim of launching an environmental sustainability project aimed at operators in the sector, called ‘Ecoristorazione Trentino’ (Trentino Eco-Catering). The project, which took shape in a programme agreement signed in 2012, aims to increase and highlight the environmental quality of Trentino's catering sector by awarding a label to those who demonstrate that they are taking action to reduce their impact on the environment. More.
Eco-events in Trentino
Due to their diversity and widespread nature throughout the region, events are activities that can have a significant impact on the environment, from waste production to water and energy consumption, noise and, finally, the impact associated with catering services. For this reason, taking action to reduce these impacts is considered a priority for public authorities and the community as a whole.
The regulations for the award of the “Eco-Eventi Trentino” label were approved by Provincial Council Resolution No. 686 of 20 April 2018 (later amended by Provincial Council Resolution No. 2089 of 3 December 2021): from that moment on, any event taking place in Trentino can certify to its stakeholders (participants, associations, suppliers, public bodies, etc.) its effective commitment to sustainability. More.
Ecoacquisti Trentino
On 26 May 2010, the Autonomous Province of Trento signed a programme agreement with Trentino's organised distribution sector, called “Ecoacquisti Trentino”, inspired by the “Spesa Leggera” project launched in 2009 by the Municipality of Trento, which later merged into “Ecoacquisti Trentino”. Retail outlets that obtain the ‘Ecoacquisti’ label implement measures aimed primarily at reducing waste and, secondarily, at improving waste sorting. More.
Green Film
An environmental sustainability certification mark for audiovisual productions that is awarded to projects carried out with respect for the environment. More.
