In the lush, green Viote basin, on Monte Bondone, the Rifugio Fratelli Tambosi serves cross-country skiing enthusiasts in winter, while in summer it’s a base for visitors to the Viote Alpine Botanical Garden, one of Italy’s oldest Alpine gardens, created on these grasslands due to the wide variety of flowers already found there. There’s a fully equipped playground to keep the children happy, but there is also plenty to enjoy in the countryside around the refuge if you venture out into the Monte Bondone nature reserve, a remarkable environment when you think that the city of Trento is barely thirty kilometres away.

Open
Jeden Tag von Juni bis August zum Mittag- und Abendessen. Um die Öffnungszeiten und Tage im Rest des Jahres herauszufinden, kontaktieren Sie bitte den Manager unter +39 347 3013209.

Walks
It takes about 4 ½ hours to walk the entire Three Peaks circular route (Cornetto, Doss d'Abramo and Cima Verde) in the Monte Bondone nature reserve (difficulty E). The Botanical Garden (next to the refuge) and the nature reserve are perfect places to deepen one’s understanding of biodiversity, given the presence of numerous species of Alpine plants.
