Alternative route to discover the beauty of Lagorai, from its mountain pastures to its moonlike peaks also famous for the presence of the mineral orthoclase.
From the village of Bedollo, the walker will walk among vegetable gardens and meadows until reaching the small hamlet of Brusago with the characteristic Lago delle Buse and the brand-new Kneipp path where they can find refreshment. From the alpine village, the ascent towards the reliefs of Lagorai begins, immersed in coniferous woods and accompanied by the sounds of nature such as the characteristic noise of the Spruggio stream. They will reach almost 2000 meters at the former Tonini refuge passing through Malga Spruggio and then slowly descend toward the Stramaiolo and Pontara huts, crossing pastures and lush woods to reconnect with the Redebus pass, where they can admire important prehistoric testimonies.
The plateau offers an opportunity to learn about and discover the importance of some plants of botanical and herbal interest such as St. John's wort, musk yarrow, numerous varieties of orchids and rhododendrons.
It is recommended to stop at Malga Stramaiolo or Malga Pontara (opening under new management in May 2024) to taste the natural products of the pasture and to make use of the various services (meals, accommodation, and cultural events).
