Loop around the Marzola, a bastion of Trento rich in nature and history
Route that surrounds the Marzola crossing its lush woods, some farms, huts and minor localities of the Valsugana. The route offers spectacular views of the Adige valley and Monte Bondone, on the northern side of Vigolana, on the Valsugana and on the Mocheni valley; with short detours you can reach numerous historical military points of interest built by Austro-Hungarian forces in the second half of the 1800s (Forte Roncogno, Forte Cimirlo, Forte Brusaferro, trenches and cave pillboxes) which testify to the strategic and exceptional position of the Marzola for the defense of the city of Trento.
Bring drinks and snacks for a break along the route; on the stretch along the western side of the Marzola there are no refreshment points.
