From the Piana delle Viote, near the Tre Cime Nature Reserve and the Torbiera, you reach Lake Lagolo along the easy trail 618.
The route starts from the Piana delle Viote, where it is possible to enter the Tre Cime Nature Reserve and the Torbiera, one of the best-known wetlands in the Province of Trento, representing a splendid example of a plateau bog of the Alps. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Brenta Group and the Integral Reserve of the Tre Cime (Cima Verde, Monte Cornetto, and Doss d’Abramo). The landscape is gentle, with wide pastures mixed with patches of beech or larch forest. The botanical and floral richness is common to the entire Piana delle Viote. You can visit the Alpine Botanical Garden, where over 1000 different species of flowers and plants grow, from the main mountain ranges of the world.
Along the route, you encounter the Stengiador Cave and Spring.
Lake Lagolo is immersed in the alpine landscape and fed by several springs near the shore and by underwater infiltrations, easily detectable during the winter freeze lasting from December to March. The basin is surrounded by meadows, fields, and coniferous and deciduous forests and is swimmable in the summer season.
The route can also be done in the opposite direction, starting from Lagolo.
The return from Lagolo to Viote by public transport (see Trentino Trasporti) is only available in summer months.
